Involvement on campus
At UCLA, I am part of the Pediatric AIDS Coalition, which is the largest student run nonprofit on the West Coast. Our biggest event is Dance Marathon, which draws over 1,000 students annually to our basketball stadium- Pauley Pavilion- for 26 hours of dancing, education, and fun. Each year, we raise over $300,000 for our beneficiaries- the UCLA AIDS Institute, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the Laurel Foundation. As a member of the PR Committee, I am responsible for formulating PAC’s overall message to students, media, and guests. I also help with finding and bringing speakers to our events and any of PAC’s advocacy efforts. Our goal is to help create an AIDS free and stigma-free generation.
Emergency medical services
I am a New Jersey state certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). I have been EMT certified since August 2016, and since then I have been a member of Montgomery Emergency Medical Services (MEMS), which is my hometown’s provider of ambulatory services. Since being certified I have been on the crew of over 200 emergency calls. MEMS is a volunteer based organization with members of all ages, backgrounds, and careers. Our motto is “neighbors helping neighbors.”
